Compassionate and Restorative
Women’s Health & Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
It is time to begin your healing journey
Whether you are navigating the transitions of pregnancy, postpartum and menopause, or struggling with bladder or bowel concerns, painful intercourse or other pelvic health challenges, I help you reconnect with your body and restore confidence, strength and function.
I offer hybrid pelvic floor physical therapy, combining in-office care with in-home sessions when appropriate, to support care that is accessible, personal, and integrated into your daily life.
Women’s health is often overlooked and under-discussed. My goal is to provide focused, one-on-one care in a safe and compassionate environment where you feel understood, guided, and empowered throughout every age and stage of life.

“Working with Melissa postpartum was such a supportive and positive experience. She was thoughtful, caring, and deeply knowledgeable, and I felt that she genuinely cared about me and my progress. I always felt seen, heard, and encouraged. She brings a special combination of expertise and warmth, creating a space that feels both professional and deeply human. I’m so grateful for the care she provided during a vulnerable time and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a pelvic floor physical therapist who truly shows up for her patients.”

“Compassionate & Restorative”
I am a pelvic floor physical therapist specializing in women’s health, with a background in orthopedics, chronic pain, and movement-based rehabilitation, including pregnancy and postpartum care.
My work is grounded in both clinical expertise and lived experience through pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, motherhood, and menopause. This perspective has shaped a focused commitment to supporting women’s health across the lifespan.
I treat women during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and menopause, as well as those experiencing pelvic pain, sexual pain, incontinence, and other pelvic health concerns. Care is individualized, evidence-informed, and designed to support both musculoskeletal function and overall well-being.
My approach integrates education, manual therapy, and movement-based rehabilitation within a trauma-informed framework. The goal is to restore optimal function, improve body awareness, and support long-term resilience, strength, and confidence.
I provide a focused, supportive environment for women seeking comprehensive, one-on-one pelvic health physical therapy care.
I live in San Francisco with my husband and our dog, Savy. My children are now grown, and I love every chance we get to spend time together. Outside of work, you’ll often find me walking Savy or enjoying a good hike. I love staying active — whether that’s exercising, dancing, playing pickleball, or unwinding with a game of mahjong — and I cherish time with family and friends, as well as traveling whenever I can.
I look forward to working with you.

No, in California you can see a licensed physical therapist without first getting a doctor’s order or referral. This is called Direct Access under state law, and it means you can be evaluated and begin care directly with me. I can provide physical therapy without a referral for up to 45 calendar days or 12 visits, whichever comes first; after that point, continued care (if needed) would require a dated signature on the plan of care from a qualified medical provider.
This is based on California law and not on whether you’re paying out of pocket. If you are planning to submit services to your insurance for reimbursement, I’m happy to answer questions and I can provide a detailed superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Most pelvic floor physical therapy sessions are about 45–60 minutes long, which gives us time to start by talking about how you’re feeling, what’s been new or different since your last visit, and what’s been helpful or challenging— this helps us truly understand your experience before we begin hands‑on care, tailored exercises, education, and questions. A typical session length reflects the holistic nature of pelvic health care and the importance of checking in on your symptoms and goals.
Many people begin with weekly visits for several weeks; as you make progress, we may space appointments to every other week or less often, as it makes sense for your individualized plan of care. The total course of care varies based on your unique needs and goals. Your schedule will be personalized and adjusted as you improve, with the ultimate goal of giving you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to manage your symptoms and your health independently. You can reach us anytime via our contact page or email. We aim to respond quickly—usually within one business day.

My practice is private-pay and I do not take insurance at this time, which allows me to provide the time, attention, and individualized care that each patient deserves.
Payment is collected at the time of your visit, and you can pay via credit card, Venmo, or Zelle — whichever works best for you. I will provide you with a Superbill monthly, summarizing all of your sessions during that period. A superbill is an itemized document with the details most insurance companies require, including provider information, dates of service, and services performed. You can submit this to your insurance company for possible reimbursement, and I’m happy to answer questions and help you understand your superbill and your benefits.
Being transparent about payment allows us to focus on what matters most: your health, your goals, and supporting you to manage your symptoms with confidence and independence.
